Whittacker Progression | Online Roulette

Here's another type of progression system (like The Martingale or Fibbonacci System) that involves you planning your bets along a sequence or progression with the aim of either clawing back on any losses or accelrating any profits.

This progression system is best employed on even money bets like red/black, odd/even.

The Whittacker System has much in common with the Labouchere, but you construct your progression in a different manner. Whereas in the Labby you add the first and last numbers in the sequence when you have just lost (or strike them out if you win), in the Whitty you add the last 2 losing bets if Lady Luck is not going your way (or cross them off if you are having the luck of the Irish).

This variation makes for a quicker recuperation of losses if you win on the sequence (but bear in mind the progression ramps up more quickly).

Our advice is to always kick off on the lowest unit you can- ie 1. This gives you a good margin to make your bets without hitting the table limits.

OK- let's talk though an example. Let´s look at an example: Bet 1 unit, and 1 unit again if you win. On a losing streak, you would bet a Fibonacci sequence, ie 1,1,2,3,5,8,13 etc etc.

But here's to you not having a losing streak! If you win at any point, strike off the last 2 bets. So let's say on the example above you won on a bet of 13, your next bet would be 5 (as you would have struck 8 & 13 off your progression).

Make sure you have set a profit target and stop loss limit when using this system (or any roulette system for that matter). This is a negative progression system like the Martingale, so called because you increase your bets when you lose rather than when you win, in an attempt to claw back any losses. In these kinds of systems, you'll need to grind out any profits and then quit the table when you have hit your target. The opposite scenario is a positive progression system, where you up your bets on wins in the hope of maximising profits on winning streaks. (Kind of like hitting the accelerator when things are going your way, if you will).

The challenge in these type of systems is when to take your foot off the pedal and take the money, as the next loss could wipe you clean out.
